View or Changing the Status of a Field Service Order

Every field service order in Micronet has a status which tells you how far the order has progressed. The status of field service orders changes automatically when they are downloaded to PDAs and then completed and posted back to Micronet.

You can view the status of a field service order using the Wide Warehouse Scheduler - Field Service tab. You can also use this tab to manually change the status of an order.

Field service orders can have the following statuses:

 

Warning

Field service orders progress through each of these statuses automatically. You should only change an order's status manually when there has been a data processing error. If you reset an order's status back to Paperless Queue or Scheduled, you will lose any changes that have already been made to that order on the PDA or in Micronet.

 

To view or change the status of a field service order:

  1. Open the Wide Warehouse Scheduler screen.

  1. Select the 7. Field Service tab.

Micronet displays the Wide Warehouse Scheduler - Field Service tab showing all field service orders created in MDS.

This tab displays the following information:

 

Field

Value

 

Action

Any action performed on a field service order through the Wide Warehouse Scheduler that has not yet been processed, e.g. a change to the order status. When you process the action by following the steps below, this reverts to No Action.

 

Date

The scheduled date for the field service order if set.

To schedule an order or to change an order's scheduled date or times, refer to "Assigning and Scheduling a Field Service Order".

 

Time

The scheduled start time for the field service job if set.

 

Job No

The field service order number which is a combination of the field service prefix entered in the Warehouse master file and the last held invoice number. For information on how these numbers are assigned, refer to "File - Warehouse - Warehouse".

 

Name

The name of the customer the order is for.

 

Address 1

The first line of the customer's address.

 

Address 2

The second line of the customer's address.

 

Des

The job description if entered.

 

Employee

The ID of the employee the job has been assigned to if set.

To assign an order to an employee or to change the employee to whom an order is assigned, refer to "Assigning and Scheduling a Field Service Order".

 

Status

The status of the picking slip as listed above.

 

 

Technical Tip

This screen is not automatically updated. It is a good idea to select FILE | REFRESH every now and then to ensure you are viewing the most recent data.

  1. If you want to change the status of:
  1. Select EDIT SCHEDULE then select one of the following statuses:

Note that the Action field has now changed to the status you selected.

  1. To process the status change(s), select FILE | PROCESS.

Micronet processes your changes and then redisplays the Wide Warehouse Scheduler - Field Service tab. Note that the Action field now displays No Action again and that the Status field has been updated.
